I suggest you try several brands & weights yourself to see what you like and to make sure your G19 will reliably feed them.
I prefer Winchester SXT 147gr but that's just me. |

+1 My preference is the WW SXT Ranger in 127gr. +P+ or the Gold Dot 124gr. +P but you really need to do some live fire with several brands / weights, etc. Here we almost never have the "heavy clothing" problem even in winter, but we do have lots of big, fat bad guys. |

Winchester Ranger T are excellent, but the Cor Bon 115gr +P and 125gr +P are very good too! If you want a low flash (for night shooting) then the Hornady TAP black box ammo 124gr and 147gr are excellent. I use all three of these and I'm very confident they will perform when needed. There are others, but you can’t go wrong with these.

Thats why I asked. FL folks wear t-shirts or summer wear year round (with the occasional whale) so over penetration is a concern. My 10mm I rotate between 135- 155 gr. |

115 winchester silvertips, cannot go wrong and come in boxes of 50 instead of 20.

Hi, OT but I would like to know how you like carrying the 19? I'm torn between the 19 & 26 for carry. I would like to use the gun for more than just a carry piece. I'm a short stout dude & wondered if it hid well. Thanks in advance for any info.

I like the hot middleweight stuff. Good balance of penetration and energy tranfer. My first choice is Speer Gold Dot 124grain +p with Winchester RangerT 127 grain +p+ a close second. Gold Dot wins out because I've seen some jacket seperation issues with the Ranger stuff.

I’m a little guy; 5’5” & 128lbs and I carry a G19 just fine. Of course, I can also successfully conceal a full size 1911 as well because I carry both in Milt Sparks VersaMax II holsters. IMO they are the best IWB holsters out there. I do have to carry my G19 @ 4 o’clock because I found carrying it at the 3 o’clock position was uncomfortable. However I have very little body fat so there is no built in padding around my waist. With the right belt and right holster you’ll be able to carry the G19 very well. |

You kidding me! Michelin is getting ready to gain import rights on that rubber plantation  As mentioned, try a couple of the good loads and stick with it. The Remington Golden Saber's do really well, they have a great flash retardant. If you can get the SXT 127 +p+--take that one! Mark |

Ive done alot of testing with the 124 grn federal HST. Excellent bullett, the nine really opens up alot and seems like it has an agressive energy transfer. And for the 45 guys, the 230 grn HST +p is far and beyond the best people stopper out there

Gold dots have always done well. +p 124 grain is a good balance between fast and heavy. I have cor-bon, but in testing they have found tht the gold dot's expand better and more reliably. I would have the Gold dots, but I cant find any for sale locally.

I use Gold Dot 124gr +p. They work well in the pistol and seem to have the extra power everyone wants. Also they have a nickel coated case so loding and unloading does minimal damage to the cases. A very good thing.
