If you could only have 3 Glocks, which 3 would you choose and why?

I currently have a 17 and a 30 and I am looking to add one more to my inventory. I am not really set on any one model or caliber. It will just be a fun gun to shoot with. No other purpose.

Which 3 would you pick.......

Those are the exact two that I have.
I have traded the 17 for a 19, back and forth for a few years with my father. I love them all.
So, if I HAD to pick another, it would be the 19 I suppose.
Or a 21? Whichever the full size .45 is.

If you want the third Glock to be a fun shooter, then definitely make it the Model 34!! it is well balanced, about the same dimensionally as a full-size 1911, easier too shoot more accurately due to longer sight radius, and is an ideal entry level gun for many shooting sports.

I am kinda torn between the 19 and the 26 since my 30 fills that midrange role. But then again the 23 looks good. But that would be another caliber of ammo to buy.

And the 20, the things I could do with that one...

Now in real life I have two G17s,G21,G22,G23,G27,G29,G31,G34,G35, and a G37. As you can see I like Glocks so picking just three is very hard.

Unless you really dont like the .40, I would add one to the mix for diversity. While I'm not a huge fan of the .40, my Glocks in .40 are very accurate and reliable. Like it or not it, it's everywhere and here to stay.

So, you need to decide what model fits your hand better, and I say have a 9, a forty, and a 45 acp.

If you're against the .40, based on your current collection, I would say a G26 would make sense.

No. The case head is bigger on the .45, therefore the breechface of your slide will be too big for the 10mm.

Well I am now debating between the 23 and 19. I went this morning and borrowed my dads 27 and looked it over. There is only 1/2" difference in length, no difference in height with pearce extensions on the 27, than the size of my 30. There is a few ounces difference in weight. Not enough difference to make me want one of the baby Glocks right now.

I think I may need to give the 40 cal a try. I was reading one of the other threads about bullet set back. I have had this occur in my 1911's. I fired them and never had a problem. Is it really more pronounced and dangerous in the 40 cal?

Actually KKM makes a 10mm-.45 barrel. I read (on glocktalk) that it works pretty well with the standard .45 extractor. They do reccomend using a #22lb. recoil spring and 10mm mags though.

17, 26, and the longslide 9mm

I'm not going to buy any more handguns in any caliber but 9mm (besides the ubiquidus 1911). I'm tired of having to buy different calibers, and 9mm is a potent enough caliber for me (plus, I can double tap every time anyways (2 wound channels beats one). Other calibers arent bad, and I'm not saying 9mm is the end all...its just a good cheap round that has a lot going for it.

When I can buy 200 rounds for about the same price as 100 of .45...I like 9mm.

Might as well take advantage of the caliber conversion from .40->9mm with the upper swap.

I don't really see any advantage of .40 over 9mm. If you want more stopping power than 9mm, get a .45. Or just shoot the idiot twice (less recoil, faster follow up shots, and two wound channels). I'm not trying to say .40 is a bad round, but I just don't think, for my uses, it's gain in stopping power is worth the disadvantages (more expensive rounds, less capacity, more recoil).

I am in the same boat as you. I have the G17 and G30, the only reason I went with the G30 was for carry.

I think my next will be the G34, it feels the only roll left as far as I am concearned. The only one I would ever use for self defense would be my G30.

Well, you all have convinced me I need a 40 cal. I am going with the G-23. Going to get the night sights as well. Never had one with them. I may take my 30 back and have them put on as well.

I get to pick it up tomorrow. $455.40 before tax with 3 hi-caps and GNS.

That will give me a 17, 23, and 30. Dad lets me borrow his 27 when I need it. Can't have too many Glocks in the family. Just need to get my brother to sell his Ruger P-89 for a Glock...
