I went about 1 1/2 years ago.  I am actually looking forward to mine expiring, so I can go get the latest updates.

Yes, Glocks are easy and the class is not required, however, you can get a lot of good info and tips from the class that make it worth while, not to mention as an Armorer you get parts directly from Glock at a discounted price.

Speaking from experience, DON'T set in the front of the class unless you like getting hit with flying parts.

I got to go for free.  I was lucky enough to get picked for a slot in one of the free classes the NRA sponsors a few years ago.

Any tips for getting in a class if you are not LEO or a dealer?

ETA: Thanks HotRod

One thing you can do is talk to your Local Gun Dealer. And ask them if they can send you as their employee. Good Luck

But a certified armorer can work on a gun without voiding the warranty. A non-certified armorer can't make that claim.

And for liability reasons, most departments require you to be factory certified.
