While my G19 doesn't do this my old 1986 original import G17 has done this since day 1, (this is a "known" quirk of early G17s due to weak slide stop spring).

I didn't notice it till a buddy of mine did it. Because it was putting the magazines in pretty hard. I started trying it and it will do it everytime if you use a certain amount of force.
Think I should worry about it? |

My 17 does it and I've been told it's a normal occurance. Just be carefull slamming the mag into the mag well as I've had the spring retaining plate become detached shooting it [spring] to my feet followed by all the rounds/follower-factory POS mags though.

i do this all the time on my g22. i cant do it on my g27, probaly because of greater slide spring pressure. as for the bottom plate comming off, this did happen to me once at the range with a cheap +2 round extension. spring shoots out the bottom and the rounds go EVERYWHERE. i ditched the extensions after that.

Some do and some don't. Don't rely on it though.

i don't remember anything being said specificly about it in the glock armorer's course i was sent to, however, IMO it's mostly due to weak mag springs not pushing the slide stop up firmly enough.
we have a slew of mags at work that sat loaded for about a year before i started to insist that we rotate them (i personally believe that they do take a set for the worse). some of those mag springs are just soft/ too easy to load. we have the 10 coil springs for our g22s. but at least we don't have functioning problems w/ our m3's......yet. |

My mags are new. Just purchased the gun less than 2 weeks ago. No feeding problems yet either. So I guess its alright.

glocks do it occasionaly. Even if it slams shut i stil rack the slide just to make sure.

It is usually because of gravity. Most likely you have the muzzle pointed upwards when you are slamming a mag in. The slide moves back enough to disengage the slide stop, which in turn lets the slide shut.
