I have one in the back of the safe that I never used, then unfortunately had to sell my G19.  I'm sure there will be another G19 in my future, so I should probably get ahead of the curve on mags now.  What are your experiences with Magpul mags, particularly recently vs. first-run?

I run GLOCK mags

[#2]
They are not as slick as factory, but I have never had any trouble with them.

Have run 15's, 17's, and 22's- never had a problem, even in heavy fire pistol courses.

I have 15, 17, and 21's. They work fine for me.

I have 2 x 17’s.

They have worked fine so far. One of them does not drop free. The front to back dimension was larger so it rubbed back of the frame causing it to stick. I just sanded it down till it dropped free.

Not gonna be used for matches, but doesnt hurt to have them in todays political climate.

They're not as slick as factory (drop free a little more slowly), but I've never had any functionality issue whatsoever with them.  Just picked up 10 more from AIM to make me feel better.  The 21 rounders are awesome in giving you a few more rounds without having to drop a bunch of coin on baseplates.

I still hate them and I'm sure they are still garbage but haven't tried any in a year or two.

I never did hate them.

The 12 rounders are perfect ergonomically, the 15 and 17 rounders work flawlessly for me in both of my P-80 builds just like the Glock mags.

I bought one magpul 12 round to try out, didn’t like it. Ejection wasn’t right and didn’t really trust it. Stuck with the factory +2 and never had a
problem (G26.3).

Just laid a chunk of money on an order of them when I seen this thread. It reminded me.

I have been completely satisfied with my magpul Glock magazines. No problems what so ever.
I also use a lot of older ( from when I lived in aban state) ten round one Glock mags that have a reputation for being problematic but they run perfectly as well.

Perfect, I'll stock up on payday if the mushroom clouds aren't blooming by then.  Thanks!

Don't hate them but, I couldn't sell them fast enough after I tried them. They may drop better with a lead wheel weight attached to the mag base. I'll stick with OEM.
Link Posted: 1/20/2021 8:10:41 PM EDT
[#16]
They're decent range mags, but they none of mine lock back on last shot.
Link Posted: 1/20/2021 8:50:29 PM EDT
[#17]
I have a number of them for the range and outside of being a bit sticky in a dirty magwell, they've never caused any issues.

OE mags if you're carrying a Glock (I don't)
Link Posted: 1/20/2021 8:52:28 PM EDT
[#18]
They are the only mags I use at the range. I love them. They won't malf, so I have to switch to a KCI mag to practice malf issues.

When there’s a ban, You will be buying mags you can’t replace, so I would spend the extra for factory.

My PCC Extar EP9 takes glock mags, I use the Magpul 17 and 21 with no issues.

Were we hating Magpul Glock mags in the first place?

I've been using them as my range mags since they were released and havent had any issues.

I don't think we ever HATED MP Glock mags.  Some folks relegate them to range-only use.

I’ve got tons of time behind some 17s and enough behind some 21s I’m using them for duty mags. The only issue I’ve had has been with non-lacquered steel case. Brass has been GTG.

I have a lot of PMags for the 17 and 19 and never one issue at all...in fact that is all that I use at the range.  I have Glock mags in the carry, bedroom and motor home Glocks, but after that, nothing but PMags....the other Glock mags are put away

They’re generally ok with round nose brass case ammo.

Hollowpoints and/or steel case and they choke.

The springs seem to suck too.

They work just fine for me.  No steel case.

I ran a few courses with total of 2k rounds without any malfunctions using pmags. My buddy tried them in his and had 3 different pmag magazines with failure to feed. Without changing anything he went to factory mags for the rest of the course. No problems with factory mags. I used those same mags again without any problems. Only problem I have is they don’t drop free as fast when your trying to do emergency reload. I guess at this point I agree with others, fine for range but OEM for carry.

i don't even know what gen p mag glock mags i have. i probably have a half dozen that have never given me issues.

people love saying how inexpensive p mag glock mags are, when in reality glock mags are also relatively inexpensive. therefore, you're better off stocking up on OEM for $10 more per mag for a known, proven, 100% effective magazine.

hell, there are links in this thread to $20 glock mags.

I haven't shot a ton with them, but I grabbed a couple of the 27 rounders and had no issues as of yet.

I picked up one on a whim (same mag for same gun), haven't tried it out yet.  Will try to update when I get around to it.

Never had an issue with mine, but I use them as range/training mags only....
Would I feel comfortable in my SD carry weapons? Yes, but I have too many OEM to ever have to.
Mainly got them for price point, they work, and they disassemble like a normal magazine is supposed to.

I have a lot of Factory mags but I also have magpul for my G19s. When I practice at the ranch in the grass and dirt I use magpul.  Even for work training. The magpul are easy to clean and I don’t care if they get messed up. I conserve my factory mags and they don’t get abused.  I have not had a single problem with the magpuls.

That seems.. unlikely?

Chalk me up as another without any issues. I have no hate for Magpul. Bought them on the EE any time I saw a lot for around $10/magazine shipped.

Never tried anything other than brass ball ammo but 1200 rounds through 3 2020 model year pmags and no issues.

I typically get Glock mags for around $19 so I never felt the need to try them.

No more Magpul Glock mags for me.

Bought a 21rd mag in 2015 probably, it's only made it through a full mag without issue maybe 2 times.

Bought a few 12rd mags in 2019 after hearing the new ones are better. They mostly work but still have issues enough to be range mags only for me.

I have a ton of them.  Prolly 25 or so.  I use them for range mags but would hesitate to run if needed.  Never had a feeding issue.  Did have 1 that did not want to drop free but a little 800 grit and now it’s fine.

I also use them in my 9mm AR.  use the 21 round with 20 loaded just because it is easier to put in with closed bolt.

Now ETS mags I won’t use.  Have had so many crack when being dropped both with rounds and without.

Don’t have any yet. Thanks to this thread I just ordered 10 from gunmag.

Mine were not acceptable to me. They hung up with steel cased ammo, and in one case a round nosedived so hard that it cracked open the front plastic and chipped off a piece.

I love AR Pmags, but what I've seen of their Glock magazines is not sufficient for even range use.

Apparently the first gens were not well done so Magpul went back to the drawing board and made some adjustments.

I hope so because I've been buying them like crazy the last 2 weeks. I don't like the fact that it doesn't have that metal sleeve that the OEM's do. I'll likely sell them if the value goes up.

That was right when they were released. Magpul sent out new mag bodies to customers to alleviate some issues when used in the Glock 19 and 26.

Between use in competitions, range training and other hard core shooting activities, I have had no issues.  Good quality and  price, why not use them.

I use Magpul mags to the range.

They work just fine. The problem is that there is not much price or availability difference between Magpul and Glock brand.

Really I can find magpul for between $13-$15.  Can’t find Glock that cheap.

I've used the Magpul 12, 15 and 17 round magazines and never had a problem in any of my Glocks and Ruger PC 9mm.  I prefer to use the factory Glock mags for carry purposes but wouldn't be worried if I needed to use a Magpul Glock mag. They are easy to disassemble and clean.

I'm surprised some have reported problems.  Magpul has good designs and tests them well.  It must be hard to build a reliable mag for every type of pistol and carbine and ammo type. Magpul Glock mags are the only close second in reliability and quality to the the factory mags.

I bought enough standard capacity Glock factory mags for my future needs and then a few Magpul mags to use at the range.

Got 20ea for the 17 and 19 platform. To many positive reports out there to dismiss them. The ones Ive used thus far have been flawless, but range use only. I consider them sacraficial to hedge against using my OEMs. One goes bad? Repair or toss it and grab another one.
