I just got the parts in today. And I can't get to the range to shoot it yet, but here is what we've got...

Gen 4 17 slide and recoil spring
Gen 4 19 frame
Gen 5 Glock 17 barrel
Lone Wolf gen 4 to gen 4 slide adapter

I am interested in this.  Let us know how it works

Should work fine presuming a gen5 RSA or taran gen5 ki.

The adapter is cut to accept a gen 4 17 recoil Spring.

Interesting.  What does the Gen 5 barrel do?

It works with the 19 locking block whereas a Gen 4 17 barrel would not..

The EE. But KKM Precision is making Gen 5 barrels now. So that's an option as well.

In theory all you'd need is a gen 5 17 frame with a gen 5 19 upper half. The dust cover would also need trimming to match the shorter slide.

This has never made any sense to me. I get the 17 grip being more comfortable but why would you want a shorter barrel? For me I could just as easily conceal a longer barrel abs a short. But the grip length printing is what can be more difficult to conceal.

And if we weren't talking about concealment then what benefit are you getting from a shorter top end?

Glego? Leglock?

Looks neat OP, give us a range report when you shoot it.

I don't have any gen 3's. All either gen 2's or gen 4's. But this would make a Polymer 80 frame more interesting to me.

Indeed.  Not ready to do a Glock frame yet.  I figger when I do it'll end up somewhat like a Mauser 96.

I was finally able to get out to the range and test the Lone Wold Slide Adaptor. I had limited time at the range before work and it was only 10 degrees but I ran this test the best that I could. I know it's not a lot of rounds but I wanted to test all of the potential slide and frame configurations that I have access to.

I have three 4th Generation Glock 17 slides. A standard slide, an MOS slide with a Trijicon RM06 mounted and a "summer special" slide with the factory from serrations. No aftermarket milling has been done to any of the slides but 2 of them do have a Wolff ultimate self defense spring package.

Two 4th Generation Glock 19 lowers were tested with each slide. One with aSurefire X300Ua.

I ran 40 rounds through all Six of these combinations. Each combination used the OEM recoil spring from that particular slide, and a new 5th Generation Glock 17 OEM barrel.

I ran the slides at they were last stored, no cleaning or oiling prior to shooting but none of them were filthy or dry.

Each combination ran flawlessly. No failures of any kind and no perceptible difference from box stock configurations.

I'm not using either. I'm using a Gen 5 17 barrel I stumbled upon in the EE. But if you want quality then KKM is the top of the food chain. If you want cheap then just buy a used 17 and borrow a hack saw.

Looks nice!  Is the adapter only held on by friction?  Any concerns about it getting loose?

Very cool, I thought about doing this with a 19 slide and 26 frame, but still wouldn’t  give me a bottom rail for a light.  Guess I could get a tlr6 and still make it work.

Just curious if the LW was as good as a Glock barrel since it's available right away.

I don't have any personal experience with them, but nor would I buy one because of the feedback I've read and the higher quality options available.

Thanks, I like it quite a bit.

It is held in by the recoil spring. It uses a gen 4 recoil spring and the adapter has a ledge inside that makes the length from the locking block to the adapter correct. It's an expensive, simple piece of metal, but it seems really well thought through and manufactured.

My only complaint it that it wasn't blackened, but that was an easy enough fix.

Hmmm never have done anything the cheap (shitty) way on my guns.  I like choices and if quality is readily available I'll take that over waiting months.  So in regard to a 3rd Gen version of what you've done are my choices for a barrel LW, KKM, Storm Lake, Brownells?  Any others?  Thanks for doing this post btw!  I can't convince myself to chop my 17 this looks like great way to accomplish the best Glock layout without doing that!

Sorry I can't be more help. My only real interest for barrels is Stock or KKM. If I was going to stray from those 2 it would be a Brownells branded product.

Looks good, OP.

I was wondering if anyone watching this thread has tried the Gen 3 adapter. I have a Vickers 17 with the RTF2 frame, and a an older 23 with the RTF frame. It would be quite the fun little trick to swap the 17 slide assembly and ejector housing into the 23 frame.

I'd like to see them make a 19/23 slide adapter to fit the sub-compact frame. I think that would sell pretty good, shit, I'd buy a couple to work with my 9mm and .40 Glocks.

I don't own any 26/27s, they are too small for my hand. But I thought the same adapter allowed you to put a 19 slide on a 26 frame.

ETA: wait, then what recoils spring would work, I might be talking out of my ass. Just very little experience with the sub compact frames on my part.

awesome thread, I will probably be less inventive and put my 19x slide on a 19.5 frame and 34.5 slide on the 19x frame and fit a 34.5 frame on a 19 slide since i have all the gen5's as soon as my 34.5 comes in from glock.

either dremel out the spring channel for the slide to fit or cut it to 19 length.

I picked up a Brownells Long slide / barrel combo on sale. Their barrel looks exactly the same as my stock Gen 5 Glock 17 Barrel. they were also interchangeable when I was swapping them between pistols.

Victory first is also now making Gen 5 barrels that would work for a Hybrid.
