Gen 4 barrels have more chamber support.

Gen 4.
As mentioned improved support in chamber, dual recoil assembly will make gun more comfortable to shoot,and as a rule Gen 4's are more accurate. Not to mention Gen 4's come with 3 magazines. |

Gen 4. Remove the finger grooves if you decide you don't like them.

New carry gen4 Just to get gen 2 but depends on condition and price. |

Gen 4. Its my only .40 I can't bring myself to sell. Gen 4 for better recoil management, texture, grip options.

Gen2 23 is a beast. Glock 20 has less muzzle flip.

Glock 23, Gen 4. with 4 back straps (two with beavertail), stronger recoil spring, better grip with finger grooves, and 3 mags...

Gen 4. The Double Recoil assembly almost makes it pleasant to shoot.

Well considering that the .40 is the reason the Gen4 exists, that would be your answer. Plus it has a light rail. You shouldn't have to live without a light rail.

if it were a G19, i would say Gen2. for a G23, Gen 4
