Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - staked on front sight

I have an old gen 3 Glock 23 that has the old style staked on front sight.  My question is if I take it off is the hole in the slide the same dimensions as the new screw on sight  hole?   I would like to take it off as its a night site that is not bright any more and replace it with a screw on new sight.
