There is no "best" Glock. That's why I need so many.
That's what I tell the wife at least. |

I carry a G17 but my G34 shoots better for a USPSA competition pistol
I came in here thinking you were gonna say 19 and I was gonna argue 17. I love the 17.
I'll agree on the G17...
I've currently got a 4th gen G22 in FDE that I am actually looking to trade for a 4th gen G17...no takers so far. |
I'm not sure yall are OK in the head.
The 19 is by far the best of the bunch... Not to argue that the 17 is good, but the 19 easily wins out in color, caliber, material, craftsmanship, company management.... and is a HIGHER NUMBER!!!! 19 > 17 Wait a minute, what were we arguing about? |
you are all wrong. i love my 19 and dont have a 17 yet but the g18 is the best glock ever. end thread
9mm Glock is best Glock.
G19 Glock is best 9mm Glock, thus best Glock. OP is heretic. |

Sorry, you're all wrong. My G20/21 FTMFW!
Actually, they ALL rock! |
how about a glock 17 with a glock 19 grip length to throw a wrench in the mix.
The Glock pistol was designed to be a 17 and will always perform the best as a 17. My G17G4 is like a Porsche 911, it just wants to be driven.

As long as I'm alive, I will own a G17. Its my go to war, EDC, castaway on a deserted island pistol of choice.
My Favorite pistol ever. My favorite Glock ever and yes, the G17 owns the G19 hands down. (just in case though, I own all 9mm glocks but the 17L) Another vote for the 17. HTR |
I vote for the Glock 17 Gen 1 through Gen 3, however I think they have corrected the Gen 4 problems.
I have over 250,000 rounds through various Glock 17's with no drama. A couple of them shot over 67,000 rounds each. I have worn out a few barrels and I broke only one part, a trigger return spring durring an actual qualification. The gun still functioned and I still shot a perfect 100... The only handgun I know of more rugged than a Glock 17 is a 1911, in 45 ACP. |
This is tough, because I do like my G19. HOWEVER, if I could carry whatever I wanted with no worries about concealment, a G17 would probably be my choice. I like my G19, but at the end of the day it IS a compromise for concealability.

I love my 19's and think they are the shit. But the 17 is my favorite if concealed carrying isn't needed. Just a fantastic range pistol. The 34 is no slouch either. Oh hell, just get them all.

I'm a total Glock noob...just bought my first, a Gen3 19. But, I have a plan that involves several M&P's going away, and a few Glocks taking their place. A 17 is almost definitely the next one I'll get.

If the next one isn't a 17, the next one in line is a 34. I definitely see your point...CCW will be covered by the 19 mostly, and a Kahr PM9 when a pocket gun is called for. If I get a 17 it will get a threaded barrel and mostly get used with a suppressor at the range. |
