Ok guys, I'm thinking of chopping the grips on some of my glocks. Here's the thing. I have a G35 and a G22, wife has G23 and G27. I'm thinking of chopping down the
grips on the 35 and the 22 so that I can use the same mags as the 23. We have standardized on these handguns and pretty much got rid of everything else. These are our SHTF handguns. I really like the idea of being able to use either 22 or 23 length magazines in any of the pistols. I thought about just standardizing with the G23 pistols for both of us, but I like the larger size G35 and G22 for me. What do you guys think?

I do the opposite.  I stockpile 22 and 17 mags and use them in every size 40/9mm.  The only flush-length mags I use in my 19, 23, or 26 are the ones that are in the guns.  I have a few more, but I always carry full size spare mags.

I do the same thing. I used to snap up the G17 mags when I found the 3/$45.

Not for any reason I can think of.

No. I would never modify a factory OEM part. Order custom parts? Sure.

No i would buy a gun that fits. But unless one have some unique requirement that requires a hand fitted handgun, i guess i would.

Do you have a ridiculous amount of G23 mags?  So many that it would be a shame not to be able to use them in the 22 or 35?  I have 6 G19 mags but I will only be buying G17 mags from now on. I have been carrying my G19 with it's standard mag but my spares are G17's.

You're doing it wrong.

Nope. No reason to chop down a Glock. Probably violates the warranty too.

But if you do anyway, also trim off the trigger guard. Just gets in the way.

NO reason? He just explained why he was going to...SMH

OP, I only have 19's right now but plan on getting a 17 to chop down to a 19 size.

No, I have all the sizes of 9mms. If I want a smaller gun, I'll switch to a smaller gun

I did on one of my 17's.

Really like it.

Slightly easier to conceal and will now accept 19, 17 and 18 mags.

I chopped my 22 down to accept 23 mags, and I couldn't be happier with it.

I plan on cutting one down, I thought I had a gen2 23 bought for $250 a few weeks ago, but the guy crawfished, decided to keep it.

I had planned to cut the grip down to fit g27 mags, to make it easier to conceal it.

I have thought of it. I have 3 Glock 19s and 32 mags so I have been thinking of getting a G17 and sending it to Cold Bore Customs
and having them make the modification to the 17.

I'm about to send off my Gen 2 17 for a grip chop.  Longer sight radius with the conceal ability of the 19.  You also get mag comparability with all of the glock 19 mags out there.

Yeah, I agree with the guys that said just buy G22 mags. Problem is I have a shitload of G23 mags, like 40 of them.

So do I sell some of those and buy more G22 mags or do I chop the glocks?

I would only chop one IF you decide to do it.

Buy more g22 mags.

I keep 2 G23 mags around and the rest are 15rd mags, some with GLOCK or Pearce +2s, and a few 22rd mags with GLOCK +2s.
