Local shop has an od 37 w/night sights for 375. Im not attracted to 45 gap at all but I've already got 2 od frame guns and would like to add more to the collection.

So is it stupid to buy an oddball caliber just because of the frame?

Is the 37 interchangable with any other popular model? Like the other .45's?
You could get a regular model 30 and swap frames so you have an OD 45acp Glock instead of the GAP.

If you can't, then I personally wouldn't do it just for the color. I would hold out for a caliber you like in OD, yeah it will be more but it's worth it to me.

I traded into an od 39 I loved th gap round and the pistol itself but I was hung up on the fact I couldnt get  gap amno from walmart, I traded it and regret doing it everyday.

Its your collection , if you want it get it, you dont need a reason to buy something you want.

I wouldn't want one, but if you want to feed it more power to you.  I reload and wouldn't want a gun in 45GAP.

It uses the standard 9/.357/.40 frame.

Like others have said, the frame itself is interchangeable with 9mm, .40, and .357SIG. You could buy an upper for a Gen3 G17,17L,22,24,31,34,35 and replace the trigger housing w/ejector for the appropriate caliber and trigger bar in the frame.

You could keep the .45GAP upper and frame internals just to shoot .45GAP whenever you want, or you could sell the upper to help finance the new upper. It may not sell very fast but you should be able to sell it.

I was thinking about one of the 22 conversion uppers but then I'd have roughly $700 (without selling the GAP upper) in a 22 pistol.

I have a black G37 and an AA kit for it. The G37 is a sweet shooting pistol. Would I have bought it for full price..no, but for $300 nib I wasn't going to pass it up. I was shopping for an AA kit for my 19 at the time and saw this deal and figured having the AA kit makes it  more flexible. Besides the Gap being a nice accurate round to shoot i like the fact that they are not that common and since it uses Gaston's rd it kind of makes it the only true 100% Glock LOL.  Ammo is easy to find online and although it usually costs around $4 more a box than good ACP ammo it pops up on sale if you look for it. The most I have paid this year is $18 a box. The key is when you can find it at a good price stock up, and if you reload it's no problem at all.

Love my G38 and it is by far my most accurate Glock. The 37 I'm issued hasn't shot less than 250/250 since I got it. I Just loaded 900 rounds of 200 gr JFP for just over $200.

Being an OD, I'd buy it. I looooove OD Glocks.

I'm a 37 owner and I really like mine, BTW. Yes ammo is expensive but otherwise the pistol is comfortable, smooth-shooting, and accurate.

I would have to agree.  Why add another caliber based upon color.....of anything.......?
But, then again, it's your money, and you've earned it so spend it however you want.

I feel like I should know this, but I don't. Is there a conversion available so you can just get a different barrel and shoot a different caliber? What about just picking up a whole new slide/barrel combo? I'm not a big Glock guy, so I don't really know. I'm very Interested, however.

The 37 uses the standard 9mm/.40/.357 full-size frame. The slide is an oddball size so I don't think a conversion barrel would work. However, any full-size 9mm/.40/.357 slide will fit on the frame. You may need to put in a new ejector but I'm not sure on that.

A new slide, barrel and ejector would work for 9mm/40/357sig I believe

Be careful, the GAP is much maligned only by those who have not shot it

It's stipled on the rear and in the finger grooves, it's very tastefully done.
