There is nothing to worry about. The mag is well supported in the magazine well and there should not be any significant downward pressure that would stress the magazine release. I use a G19 magazine in my G26 all the time and I have never had any problems.

i've used 17 mags in a 26 and 19
i've used 22 mags in a 27 and 23 i've used 27 mags in a 26 1000s of rounds never a problem. |

there is no damage caused by doing this. One reason glocks are so popular among LEOs. Our duty mags fit our back ups. Big plus in my mind.

as an added benefit, if you smack the longer mag in hard enough you can usually get the slide to drop, chambering the first round.

You should have seen the looks I got when I strolled into Roll call with a Glock 18 mag sticking out of my 19.
