+1 They hold the magazines tight and close to you belt and body. Simple design and the magazine tension is adjustable. |

I use an old leather speed pouch from Gordon Davis that allows you to position it between the belt and the pants...works great for me with the 1911. Since I usually wear 5.11's I will carry a spare Glock or H&K 9mm mag in the mag pocket with them. (I carry a G19 when I have a Glock and use a G17 spare so it is easier to reach)

Yeah I also like the comp-tac mag holder the best for the 1911, it's angled at the bottom so it doesn't push the first round out of the magazine at all which i had a problem with some leather carriers.

I use either of these depending on the situation. The double pouch is a Fobus and the single pouch is from Blackhawk.

if OWB, i dont normally carry extra mags. if i do, i just put it in my pocket. otherwise i carry 2 mags in my Galco MCII because i can

Right now I'm using a Combo. mag/light pouch from Mitch Rosen.
I plan on purchasing single and double mag. pouches and a pocket mag. pouch. |

I bought a BH CQC mag and Surefire carrier awhile back... used them for about 30 min, took them off and they have been collecting dust ever since. They print like crazy and the belt clips dig into your belt line making them uncomfortable. This is just my opinion but if you were going to open carry then the BH's would be fine but if your CCW'ing I would go with another brand such as Comp-Tac. They have great customer service and great products. |

I agree they aren't ideal for concealment, but if you have the option to OC or if your body type/clothing allows you to conceal them; they are much easier to pull the mag from. |

I use a Fobus for Glock mags and it does hold it tight to the body. It has lasted well, too!
