I bought a kydex spare mag pouch for my sig 229.  I've tried carrying on my belt weak side from 6 - 10 o'clock.  It is uncomfortable.  If I don't wear a t-shirt underneath, it is torture.

What do ya'll use for carry, and where do you carry it?

I carry a spare .45 mag weak side about 8 o'clock in a leather Galco mag holder.  I also wear an undershirt.  The only way that I find it uncomfortable is if I am laying down on the couch or something.  You may want to try switching to the leather.  It might be more comfortable.

I use a Safariland horizontal concealment mag holder carried at 11:00.  It's quite comfortable unless I bend down to pick something up.  Then it digs into my gut a bit.

Front left pocket.  Works just fine for me.  I have to take my mag apart and clean it every couple weeks because it accumulates some lint, but it's better than on the belt to me.

I use a Desantis A48 SS mag pouch. It's comfortable and doesn't dig into my side.

I don't carry a spare mag (yes flame me alive).  Too much stuff on belt/pockets.

I carry hi capacity 9mm.  Also carry a Fox Lab that's worth priceless and easily worth the like of 10 extra rounds

OK, it's not nearly as uncomfortable as that.

I always carry my spare mag (or two!) on my weak side.  I also always wear an undershirt.

Book, are you using the ones Mike makes?  I'm guessing that 1911 mags are more comfortable since they are thinner and don't have the big fat bottom like the Sig mags.  "Fat bottom mags they make the rockin' world go 'round."

Yes, mine are Talon Tactical pouches.  I also wear TT pouches when carrying my G19 though.  Those are also not uncomfortable for me.

Probably need to lose my spare tire.

I started thinking about it a little more.  It's not uncomforable when I'm just hanging around, driving or walking.  It becomes uncomfortable when I do more active things like playing on the floor with the munchkins, or leaning over giving them baths, etc.

I'll try carrying it around 8 o'clock.

I do the same thing, but I think it's a pretty stupid place to carry a spare mag.  If you fail to draw your weapon in a stick-up in time (they got the drop on you and caught you by surprise, lets assume), the first thing they do is go through your pockets.  If they find a mag, they know you have a gun, and you are toast at that point!
