So you hit the target 47.5 times out of 50?

No 2 points per shot inside the 8 ring....
All 50 shots were in target.

Oh - my instructor didn't score our shots, IIRC, he just counted hit/miss.

I was surprised at home many people could miss a torso at 3 yards.

What state?

heh, ever have the opportunity to watch armored car drivers qualify?  Saw it once, decided that Denero in Heat didn't need all that fancy equipment.

You haven't seen funny untill you've seen shenequa the armored truck guard try to shoot her service revolver without messing up her acrylics (fake nails)

TN.

I'm pretty sure that the requirements only stipulate that you HIT the target - where you hit it doesn't matter.

Then again, I could be wrong - I really don't remember all the details.

What guns were each of you using?  Will they be your carry guns?

No, they were qualifying at a local range while my buddy was getting night sights put on his glock 26.

It was funny because the guy running the qualifications was acting all hardcore SWAT team like.  Meanwhile he was packing a glock in a cheap paddle holster with no reloads and telling these guys "good, you're really coming along."

Nice job. My GF can sometimes outshoot me. Glad to know there are 2 more CCW holders out there. Be prepared and be safe.

We had to make 6 ~50 yard shots on top of that....it killed alot of people's score.

Dayum! Next time you and she go to Starbucks, get the chamomile like your wife and not the triple shot espresso.

50 yards?

Who in the name of Hades would put a 50yd shot on a CCW qualification?

Just try and win that one in court.

50 yards away is a hard case for fear for your life, unless you're trying to take down a lunatic with an AK attacking a McD's or something.

Anyway, seems strange for a CCW qual.

hmmm i never did a CCW qual. My DD-214 was good enough for the state.

However when i did my Armed Security qualification i got 226/240 (94%). We had to shot from on top of the target to i think 25yds if i recall. I know the first few shots were real close. Close enough to just pull the firearm from the holster and fire 2 shots from your hip.

The Mrs. will going in for her CCW training soon though. She'll do good.

Great shooting on both of your parts! Definately something to proud of.

What are those white lines above all of your holes? It’s not masking tape I know. It looks like somebody took an eraser and rubbed off the black background. Her target doesn’t have any.

Chalk. The guy that counted mine uses chalk so he doesn't count any twice.

you had to take a course to get your CCW? all i had to do was pay some money and get it.. well that was about 4 years ago so who knows, maybe it was different then or different in every state.

50 yrd shots with a hand gun should be part of every shooters training. You may be called upon to defend somebody else. Case in point. yesterday a 14 yr old girl was shot to death at a local convienience store. She was sitting in a car with some of her friends/relatives when the driver got into an argument with someone outside of the vehicle. When the driver attempted to drive away, the outside person opened fire on the vehicle and killed the girl.  In such an event, it may not be possible to close the distance in time to stop such an attack. If you are a proficient shooter, 50 yrd shots are not beyond reason or practicality.

Before the nay sayers begin bleeting, consider that it could be your loved one that needs you to make that 50 yrd shot.

True, but it shouldn't be required to get your CCW - Most people get a CCW to protect themselves. If they have the testers shoot at 50yds it should simply be something to test your skill at that range and to get you thinking that it is possible to make shots at that range and one day you may need to.
