Glock 23 w/ Mepros and Milt Sparks VM2.  Enough said.

Sounds like a Glock 27 or 30 would fit the bill.

Thanks guys that did cross my mind for I do like my little 26 a lot.

Keep up the suggestions.  I hope to buy fast before momma has time to change her mind on me.

Lets look at this a little different. Since you already have the G26 and like it get a G17 or 19. You can use the mags from the larger 9mm in the G26 and therefor have great flexibility and a common caliber.

Glock ? if ya like em and want similar pistol. Or maybe try a P2000 HK?

Kimber Ultra Carry CDP, the best IMO, small but with the power of a 45

Springfield XD .40 service model.
Meets your size requirements. Takes high cap mags. No manual safeties, multiple internal safeties. A sweet trigger. With the .40 service you can change it to a 9mm with a drop in barrel, you can even load the 9mm into your .40 mags. Maybe buy a ported model so you get 4 guns out of one fame and slide (.40 ported, .40 non-ported, 9mm ported, 9mm non-ported) by just buying a few aftermarket barrels.

ETA: A free plug for someones EE ad, a sweet deal! It's a 9mm but all of the XD's are great

Glock 19 to go with your G26. You can use the G19 mags in the G26. If you can shoot the G26 you can shoot the G19. Same trigger, same sights. You can use the same ammo.

I concur, unless 9mm isn't "good stopping power", in which case bump up to the model 23, 30, or 36 (if you want better concealability)

That's my opinion.

Kimber Pro Carry I or II with internal extractor.  Alloy frames keep the carry weight down, full size grip makes shooting and recoil very pleasant and manageable. Have had NO failures with my Pro Carry II after 550 rnds. I use Wilso 47D mags in it.  YMMV

G30 is my choice.  You mentioned small of back?  Maybe the 36 would be better for that.  It's a bit slimmer.  Either way, they're both reliable and .45's  no problem with "stopping power".  Best of luck deciding, I know it's not easy.

I'll give a +1 to the Glock 19...

It's the lightest 15+1 pistol you can get.  It's the most reliable platform you can get.

Throw some night sights on and your good to go!

Kimber Tac Pro II

Night sites, lighter aluminum frame, easily concealable in a Sparks VM-II and mine has been rock solid reliable with Wilson 47D's

ETA: the other thing you could always do is pick up a Smith 642 for "always" carry or as a BUG...

My wants but not limits.

Something that will carry well and conceal well with good stopping power.
Something that will fit in the console of most cars.

Here it is guys, I got a chance to get another gun but don't have the foggiest what to get.  What say you all?

Kahr PM9 or Rorbaugh R9. So small, light and concealable you can carry them anywhere. I carry my PM9 everyday, everywhere. Trigger pull is VERY smooth.

With good 9mm JHPs they pack sufficient power. Practice ammo is cheap. Downsides are fewer accesories available, and extra magazines are spendy. But for a carry gun you only need a good holster, mag carrier, and a few extra mags.

Glock 23.  Small enough to carry and 13+1 rounds of .40.  The two guns I carry the most are my 23( 95%) and 27 (5%).

Glock 19 +1 w/ 124 gr JHP's, Glock 38....45 caliber stopping power and you can carry it summer or winter no problem. Kahrs have a break in period of at least 200 rounds and I still didn't trust mine. I like Glocaks...Had a Kimber went back to GLock, Had a 92 FS went back to Glock, Had a Kahr PM9 went back to Glock....If you want a killer little wheel gun...SP101 Gemini Custom Pkg...I never ever sell mine!. .357 power with little recoil. geminicustoms.com

Thats about it....what car did the wife get? If it was $$$$ I think you should get an AR15 or Preban M-1A / M-14 too!

Just my HMO!

Not on your list but I REALLY like my S&W 386PD.   7 shots but that thing is SOOO light.

It carries very well.

Currently loaded with Federal Nyclad 38Special +P because my wife keeps it in her nightstand
when I am not carrying it, and she doesn't like magnum loads.

I hip holster carry a Kimber Pro CDP II 1911 myself.

I'm a big believer of standardizing on platforms - and it looks like you have more 1911's than anything else.

Hk USP compact is pretty lightweight for carry, and similar thumb safety operation to your 1911's.  Either 9mm or .45 makes a nice carry piece.

Of course you could really push the envelope and get a P7M8 before they're all gone

You already own a great carry gun in your list!

Use your 39-2 with an IWB holster.  This is one of my carry methods and the holster is a Mr Softy from Highnoonholsters.  This is a thin reliable holster that weighs the same a tupperware gun (22 oz empty).

If you need a smaller BUG, you can pick up a Kel-tec P32 or PA3T.

Hope this helps.

Yea, nice gun.  It's the third generation model 39 with all the bugs worked out.  I've had it for years and it's literaly saved my butt more than once.  It was so popular when they dropped the 39 and 59 series they kept the 39-2 around for a few more years.  I mean this gun feeds anything I put into it.

I actually am so familliar with my 39-2, I used it for my CCW test.  It kind of shocked me with it being so old a model that there were three others in the class with 39-2s with the only gun more beign Glocks.  Mine was the prettiest though.  I take care of my guns so even old, it looks like it just came out of the box.

I guess what sold me the most on the XD was the handgrip.  It was a perfect size for my hand yet still used high cap mags.  The Ruger was my only other high cap mag 9mm but is quite a bit bulkier.

Tj

If you passed your shooting test with it get a good IWB holster for it and your good to go!  Like I said I do have my P32 as a BUG!

Suggestion on the IWB get a highnoonholster.com because the have 13 different models and I picked up a Mr Softy for my P32 and will be getting one for my 39-2!

Mine I bought a few months ago, with less than 50 rounds through her and is in 100% shape and no nicks on the medium wood grips and no holster wear!  It is the most accurate larger caliber gun I own...
