 one to keep original and one to modify.

Yes it can. It is threaded for a standard AK. The weapon points great and shoots great with the 16" barrel. I have no plans to mount the shortened Bi-Pod.

Here is ours. Darn it though- its a post sample.  Runs like a top- 1400 rnds in the first two days, haven't cleaned it yet.
