just scored something rather unusual.
its a Finnish Army issue rifle case. Canvas and green reindeer leather.
It has a Finn soldiers name stenciled on it, and looks to be in great condition.
guy who had it before me used it for his M-76.
I just purchased it, and its being mailed to me.
anyone have any info on these?
are these rare?
value?
here are the pics

They are not too common over here. Chris from Vulcan Imports imported a few of them about a year and a half ago. I don't remember how much he sold them for.

I have one like it except made completely of green leather, that I bought from a guy in Finland. Paid $125 for it, brand new. He had another one, used, for about $75 IIRC.

I don´t remember seeing much of those in the army. Could it be that it´s for the older Sako/Mosin-nagant sharp shooter rifle hat

Yes.

Kad NISULA
Kad  ASKUT

I think his last name is Asku and T is his first name's initial.
K.J. are cadet Nisula's initials, likewise.

Kad K (im assuming KOIVISTO)

I think it's short for Kadettikoulu, Cadet School.
Especially as it has that JV/81 VSK above it.
VSK is probably short for vuosikurssi ("class of...")
If it's JV, it's probably jalkaväki (infantry) but there's that weird dot above what looks like a "v" so I'm not sure.
Also not sure what that IL/75K is about, the designation of a cadet class or something like that I suppose, like that JV/81. The number is obviously the year but I'm not sure about the letters...
