It's amazing that one of the few countries that realizes the Galil is the best rifle, is Columbia. Maybe there is hope for them yet.

Do you guys notice the 7.62x51mm NATO Galil AR's in this pic:



And this one also:



I had heard that both the Guatemalans and the Columbians bought a few of the 7.62 NATO Galil's in AR configuration for 1) as a Designated Marksmanship Rifle and 2) for use in case of jaguars/pumas decide to bite you on the ass in the rain forest.

The only way they could have done better is to get South African made Galils instead  ;o)

They make their own under license, 5.56 only.  The 7.62 ARs are getting fewer and fewer as they wear out, much to the distress of the troops.  5.56 sucks in the forest.

And the Galil in Mbsk01's first pic, with the guys in the colorful armbands, is of a captured Galil in the hands of the G.
