Don't get me wrong, I think it's about time we have a Galil section, especially with the possiblity of building some.  But isn't a Galil just an Israeli AK variant?  Shouldn't it just be down there with the Yugos, Chinese, Romainians, Bulgarians, etc?

I think it's because it is a different enough variant that it warrants its own category.  After all, the parts are not interchangeable.

Plus, it was created and built in a non-combloc country.

I love my 686 Galil AR.  It shoots great, just as accurate as my AR carbines, plus total AK reliablity. The parts quality is amazing. Its just too damn HEAVY for lugging around.  Computer Guy is hooking me up with a sweet deal on some South African R4 mags.  I think Im up to a 16 steel Israeli and plastic South African mags.  One of these days Im going to get around to building one of those kits into a post-ban.  Just wish someone made a STAMPED reciever for it.  I got mine for $1200 back in 93 I believe from Vollmer.

...I think its 'cause them guys with Galil's think they are better than us!

We are-----specially those of us who got our "all in one piece, in the box" Galils before the ban.

(Just kidding, I shoot my AKs and ARs much more than the Galil)
