Bought a parts kit for a Galil SAR i know i need the receiver and a new barrel.

My question is can I use a micro barrel in this kit to make an MAR rifle/SBR or does it have to be an SAR barrel?

If so does the receiver need to be micro Galil receiver or can i use standard size one?

Forgive my ignorance I know nothing about Galil’s or how to build them, but I thought it be cool to have one.This will also be my first SBR so I want to do it right.

I believe the profile of the barrel is different and I know CNC sells different receivers for the different types. I don't see any reason why you wouldn't be
able to "build" the SAR and just shorten the barrel, depending on how short you can go you may or may  not have to open the gas port more. I think
the guy at Arizona response systems is still building if you want to give him a shout.
