new to AK's and have 2 kits for a build---please help

Stamped receivers are made out of a 1 to 1.6mm flat piece of steel which is bent into a U or channel shape. The front & rear trunnions are held to the reciever with rivets.

A milled reciever is milled out of a block of metal, and is much heavier.

Most of the kits out there are stamped.
