when I got this yugo last year for $60 it had the dreaded gas shutoff corrosion problem. after fixing the problem I decided to customize my yugo. I have posted this before but have since did a little more to it. I now have a reliable lightwieght yugo SKS...

Just wondering, how did you fix the gas shutoff problem?

I have an SKS and love it so much I bought another! Haven't shot the new one yet. But the gas shutoff problem seems to be a scourge with SKS carbines. It's worrisome. If you buy a SKS, make sure it's in good shape!

Fixed it for you,and it really only pertains to the yugos 59/66 model with the grenade launcher with gas cuttoff.

Inform me on what all you did to the muzzle end of the barrell.  It appears as if the bayonet catch and all the related crap is gone or did you rebarrel completely.
