I just ordered an excellant grade SKS from AIM- $109.95 shipped.
Aside from cleaning the bolt and any cosmo what else should I do before shooting?

I think you got it covered. Just make sure to get ALL the cosmo, especially out of the gas system.

I don't know if it has night sights or not.
