How uncommon is a Russian SKS with a solid wood stock instead of a laminated one? The carbine in question has a blonde-ish colored stock with the usual rebuild mark, forced serial number, etc. Original, as imported back in the late 90's-early 2000's.

Are these more or less desirable? I've never seen another like it since I bought it way back in the day...

I don't have an answer, but this is pertinent to my interests...

Hardwood stocks are more common . More common on refurbs than laminated.
