Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Laminate Handguards?

When did bulgaria start producing laminate handguards that look russian?  I just got a set from kvar that has the reddish stain to it. Only other bulgy laminate set Ive seen have been the natural finish. Anyone?

The bulgarian krink that I just got from Inrange had the brown wood....when I stripped it, The top forearm was laminated, the bottom with regular wood
