what do you guys think
would you get a factory SBR 106-56 for 1500+200 from aresnal direct or buy a 106-51ur for 850+200+labor and chop the barrel seems like you'd be into it for like 400or 500 less?

That's a no brainer dude...!!!

Get the 16" model and convert to SBR. The added benefits are the Savings in money, and the ability to have the rifle while waiting on a tax stamp.

my only issue is the gas system work that may or may not have to be done
I've seen no definitive answer so I cant be sure. Is there any premium paid for factory SBrs in the collector or mall ninja department
this will be a shooter with a ultimak krink rail and a T1

The 107UR moves significantly more gas, and therefore needs the gas system opened up to 3mm. The 106UR does not need the gas system opened up.

There would no significant difference in value between a Factory 106 SBR and a modified 106 SBR. Both would still be considered to be factory built, as the only mod on the 16" barrel model is a barrel cut.

I think there would be a slight variation in value between these two. With a factory SBR you wouldn't have to engrave any additional info on the gun. I think this would give it a higher resale value as there would be no personal markings on it. I know that I wouldn't really want to buy a gun with someone else's name carved in the receiver.

Good point. But for me personally, I couldn't justify an extra $400 - $500 for the lack of engraving. The Corporation engraving on my SBR's were professionally done and filled in with Gun-Blue, so they are barely noticable. If engraved on the bottom of the receiver, its even better. Secondly, few people sell their SBR's. The double Form 4 process and cost is not appealing to most buyers.

it's only one form 4 if you sell it in-state

spoke to Arsenal today Factory 107 ur sbr 2300 and these will be the last ones ever produced .....

Getting a 16 inch 106UR or 107UR is the cheaper route. However, finding a real Bulgarian 4 pc. brake after cutting the barel and removing the bushing (for 107UR) in the gas port is hard right now. $2300 plus $200 tax is nuts for a factory 107UR SBR. If you can afford that you must be doing very well in this economy.

I paid $900.00 last week on GB for my Arsenal 106UR. The same person had the factory Arsenal 106UR SBR for $1700.00. I'll do the SBR work myself later this summer. I was able to buy a lot of mags and accessories and still have more than enough money left over for the tax stamp later compared to buying the factory SBR.
