Will a standard ak-47 gas piston like the ones from Tapco work in a Saiga 7.62?  I seem to remember there was some difference but I'm not sure what it was.

Sorry my saiga is a .223 or I would go strip my Bylgy and it down and let you know. Unless there is a critical leangth difference I do not see why it would not work. My piston on my .223 looks like it would fit my Vepr .223.

The Saiga will work withAK47 gas pistons. I have installed the Arsenal inc one in my saiga, and one in my buddies. The original intent was for parts compliance for non converted AK47 mag use. Eventually i just did the conversion because i wanted a "true" ak.
