Has anyone ever threaded a VEPR BARREL to put on a different muzzle-brake, because VEPR muzzle brakes cost too much? Its 50 dollars and thats just too much for me.

My KTR-03V barrel is threaded 5/8x24, same as the AR-10. I have a Vortex on it, which isn't cheap.

YHM makes the Phantom with 5/8x24 threads, it's $35, and it uses a crush washer so you don't have to worry about the retaining plunger.

You could also use FAL threads, but a Belgian short type FH slips over the barrel and would probably require that it be turned down to fit. The DSA short Steyr FH would work though.

You could even thread it 1/2x28 and use a regular A2 or A1 FH. What caliber is your VEPR? Might have to ream it out, not sure.
