Want to create a late 80's Russian AKS-74 clone.

Was thinking about using this kit as the base:

(2nd Kit Down.) "Izhmash military AK-74 5.45x39mm assault rifle parts kit. Unissued, like new condition with matching serial numbers." Cruising about the internet leads me to believe these are circa 1988. That's pleasing to me as it's still within the Soviet Afghan War period.

Would this be a good buttstock to get???

Well it's Izhmash going on a Izhmash kit ... sounds good so far. Would the straight edge and smooth buttplate be appropriate for the late 80's? "Same pivot pin angle as the SLR-106" - is that good, bad, or immaterial?

Is this parts set all I need to install it?

I can't tell if it includes the forward latch.......

Maybe hunt down and add some plum handguards and an earlier flashhider? Weld over the "S" and "F" and have the cyrillic markings added?

I think the first plan will result in the most accurate and satisfying clone... but also by far the most expensive. Am I missing something? Thoughts?
