Russian SVD Dragunov 18 rd mags. Were these issued? or just prototype?

Issued but in very limited numbers. There's also a high capacity metal one, as well, which is quite rare.

They have them in bakelite as well as the standard waffle pattern.
One of the steel waffle pattern 18rd Russian magazines sold on Gunbroker several months ago for quite a high price. |

I had an email back from my contact in Moscow and he has only ever seen one and are second only to a Unicorn horn!

As far as I know, there were several made. Mostly for trial and field testing. I believe they weren't fielded for one reason or another and the development of more was scrapped. But there are multiples out there that seemed to have made their way out of the factory and into private hands.
