Do the vepr's with the pinned fsb take a standard akm gas block? Was weighing converting one of these vs a saiga for an old school wood and bakelite 74 look.

Are you asking about the gas tube/block size/length on the the one with integrated sights, or without?

On mine with integrated sights, the gas tube is different and about an inch longer than a standard tube. And thus regular handguards are out of the question unless you fab up something yourself using the OEM gas tube.

It's my understanding that the model without integrated sights, uses a standard length tube and is pretty much identical and compatible with most standard AK's in this respect. Dinzag sells parts specifically to convert a Vepr in this fashion, and they sell a standard AK 74 tube and it says on their site that it works for every caliber.
