The 10 stands for 10round mag, the guns were made with single stack trunnions to comply with the BATFs idiotic "sporting rifles only" import clause and milled here by Century to accept standard .MIL mags.
The 63 is short for AIM-63, Romania's designation for their home-brew AK, adopted 1963.

Does that mean that the ones without the "10" never started out as "sporting rifles" and were made to accept the hi cap mags from the beginning?
