I have the same sling and it's a complete piece of crap. Throw it away and buy a canvas sling. I too could not push the clip with my finger, i had to use a pair of pliers.

I don't like 'em for my AK's...but I put the one that came with my forward pistol grip Rommy on my Yugo 59/66 SKS, and it looks good on that...so they do have their uses....

the sling ring being on the bottom of the buttstock is really agrivating me, i try wearing the gun and it twists the gun.
i try wearing it over my shoulder and the gun ends up twisted upside down. |

On mine the "D" ring doesn't fit through the buckle like it's supposed to. I was going to use some pliers to see if it was split and to just take it apart to slide the leather through, but I found a Spec-Ops "Sling AK" cheap so I just put that on instead.
