the most common fault of the romanian rifles is the optic rail being mounted off-axis with the bbl. bore in the elevation direction...the poor commies can't seem to level the mounts out!

fortunately, almost all russian military optics have a very wide adjustment range (in both windage and elevation) to compensate for the build error.

the optic rail, unless grossly mis-machined, is parallel to the receiver wall. quick 'eyeball' inspection can determine if the bbl. is installed parallel to the receiver.

if the bbl. is stuffed into the trunnion correctly, that only leaves the front sight base and the kobra mount, itself, to inspect.

have several friends carefully eyeball the front sightbase to see how vertical it really is.

make sure your kobra is mounted correctly on the optic rail dovetail and is securely tightened down.

again, get several opinions...have your friends determine if the kobra sight 'looks' parallel to the receiver and bbl..

if the kobra mount is twisted, bent...whatever...return it for another exchage unit (trying a friend's kobra on your rifle would be a bonus double-check).
