As my subject says, its seems like 50% of the time I fire my rifle the round does not fire.
I know it is not the ammo because it works flawlessly in two other rifles.
It seems like the firing pin on the bolt is not striking the back of the round.

Is there a good way to clean the bolt?
Should I contact century?

I've had this rifle for two years.
I've put thousands of rounds through it.
I used to maybe have a failure to fire every 50 rounds.
I chalked it up t crappy ammo.
1/2 the time is just ridiculous.

Hope someone can provide insight.

Without seeing it, I can't say. Check the firing pin channel, hammer engagement to the back of the firing pin, ect.

Have you ever disassembled the bolt? If not, there is a very good chance that there is preservative in the hole for the firing pin, which has now combined with the powder residue etc. and prevents the firing pin from moving freely.
Check the sticky above, "Big update on my Romanian AK page". It has a tutorial on disassembling the bolt. Do so and clean the parts throughly, including the inside of the bolt.

Your problem is probably going to be in your fire control group (trigger,hammer,disconnector).Does it fire the first round when you first load it?Does it chamber the second round but when you pull the trigger does it just click?If it does this take the top cover off to see if the hammer is in the up position.If the hammer is up then you probably have a problem with your disconnector not catching and you get what is called hammer follow.Some of the disconnectors from tapco have improper holes drilled in them.Also check to see if the firing pin is broke.

Also check to see if the firing pin is still good. I've heard of firing pins being flattened after a while and no longer pressing far enough into the primer to fire the round.

That's the problem I had with a new WASR-10/63. Got a new firing pin under CIA's warranty, plus I bought one while waiting on Century to get my paperwork squared away.

I bought mine from K-Var. The pin itself was around $7, but shipping was $10, so $17 total. CIA finally got my waiver form (Paper stating that I wasn't a gunsmith or dealer, and that I would do the repair myself) and shipped a new pin under warranty, so I have a spare in my range bag.
