I was at a gun show last weekend in charleston. a guy told me that we are not importing romanian ak's anymore. is this true? why? and will this raise the price of the ones here now?

It's not true. The story was started by an Internet vendor to justify raising its prices. The reason given for the cessation of manufactur was shown to be false, so the vendor changed the reason. That reason was shown to be untrue and the vendor pulled the whole story off the website. Two and a half months later, people who think they know more than they do are still repeating the story.
