Picked up a Norinco Hunter (early version, with receiver cover mounted peep) for $200 this past weekend. Previous owner had included a regular AK pistol grip and AR stock adapter. Wasn't sure how he had tried to fit them... and I wasn't sure they would, but I was tinkering around this evening...

And figured out how he had modded the Hunter. What I'm guessing is an extra hole in the bottom of the receiver for the grip screw. The grip bolt is in the base of the stock adapter.

So I put it all together with my MagPul 93A2 collapsible stock. Quite solid. I just laid a FAL handguard on top for appearances. I've gotta figure out what the best handguard would be for me to mod up and fit. Any thoughts?

Whaddya think of the general appearance?

But I gotta figure out how to fill the gap at the end of the receiver twixt it and the adapter.

I guess I could leave the original wood forearm on it, but it just doesn't look right with the buttstock.

And I gotta figure out the best remedy for the wicked nasty trigger slap this baby has.

is it possible to whack the trigger guard, stick a regular trigger guard on it and drop in a standard trigger group then have the grip in the usual spot?

I like the look of the fal HG's on there, but the long trigger just throws the proportions off in a weird way.

You can poke around the site and find some info on fixing trigger slap, I think some dremeling is required.

I could replace the whole trigger group I think. Other than the overlong trigger, the rest of the parts appear to be standard. I could change just the trigger, and put on a new guard, but I'd have to have new holes for the rear rivets (or screws? This is a milled receiver)

But I'd prefer to not mod the rifle in such as way as to not be able to go back to original configuration. I'd like to still be able to use the Hunter Buttstock, and that needs the long trigger to work well.
