I recently picked up an ia co import 56-3. It has wood furniture on it and the guy I got it from said that is how it came. It came with 2 75 rd drums and 3x 30rd mags. Oh and a case of ammo.

Took it to the range today and shot a few mags. Flawless functionality and a superb trigger. 3-4” five shot groups at 100 yards from a bag With wolf ammo. Had 4 clay birds on the berm and only had to take 1 shot at each one. Very nice shooting rifle.

You did well IMHO. I still see those around occasionally but usually in the 2s without the drums or the ammo. That is a great price without the extra $500 in accessories / ammo.

OP,
Why do you think it is "56-3"? It's a Type 56S. Probably is marked as such on the front trunnion. |

A 56-3 would have red phenolic furniture.

You know it and I know it. But I don't think most people who're talking "56-3" even know what is a 56-3. Or, 56-1 and 56-2 for that matter.

It is marked 56S-3 on the trunnion. It had spiker handguards so I assumed someone had taken the Bakelite furniture off of it at some point. I’m just going to use it as a blaster so not worried about originality.

The fiberglass furniture was swapped. As the pictures shown, it is the model Type 56S. The material is fiberglass, as you can actually see the cloth (fabric) in the handguards and stock.
