I'd like to swap out my polymer furniture for a wood set.  I've yet to see a milled Bulgarian 7.62 with original Bulgarian issued/made wood furniture, only the bakelite sets.  The AK74 sets are everywhere and range from the beechwood stock/beechwood upper HG and european walnut lower to the bakelite phase to the modern polymer phase.

ideally I'd like to stay authentic, if possible, and choose a wood type and color that matched what the Bulgarians issued their milled 7.62s with, but I can't seem to find any official examples.  If this was never done that's fine, but if it was I'd sure like to know.  I've given up on trying to find an original set to install--seeing as I can't even find a picture or reference to what was actually original, so I'll be purchasing an Ironwood set and doing the finish myself.

If you want to obsolutly get the classic Bulgarian Blond look - get a set from http://www.ironwooddesigns.com/IWDHome.html select bulgrian milled tang 2 and european beechwood.

Dam nice job on that wood Spax, now I am going to have to put wood on my SLR101. Think I wll go with Ironwood.

Thanks!  I was more interested in finding out exactly what type of wood they traditionally used, but I think the answer is looking to be very complicated :)
