I am getting a dent in the center of the ejected shells. I am not sure if the the new round going in is being dented, or if it happens to the spent round? I am using steel cased shells? Has anyone had this problem? This is my first AK and it is a Poly Tech. This is the first time I had it out. It seems to working fine? Any ideas??

You gotta believe that it is on extraction. If it was on the chambering, it would have been blown out flush when the round is fired. Unless it is something major, don't worry about it.

Don't worry, son, it's O-K  ! !

The case gets dented "on the way out" -- case is slammed against the top cover on ejection.  It's normal in most 7.62 caliber AKs.   Don't matter if it's steel case or brass case.  Just shoot and enjoy  ! !
