I've been having problems with the FCG on my Romy G from the very beginning. I bought an Arsenal single hook set, and then later on got the RSA retaining plate when it wouldn't stay together during testing. I cut a piece off the disconnector because it was hitting the trigger guard nut and doesn't have any function in semi-auto: (image is cut off but you can still kind of see it)

One of the problems seems to be that the default hammer spring is about a millimeter or two too long. On the original hammer spring, I tried to bend it around a little bit to make it shorter, but now the ends are crossed, which fucks it up occasionally, and the spring exerts basically no downward pressure, causing the trigger pull to be ridiculously low and the trigger to not return forward and release the hammer after it's pulled. I bought a new hammer spring along with the retaining plate and it has the same problem being too long. Here is a picture of what I did to the original spring:

On top of that, when the hammer is pulled back and released 3 or 4 times, it starts doing this shit (inside the receiver, obviously):

This only happened once I put the retaining plate in.

So I guess the questions here are:
What should I do to shorten the hammer spring ends by a tiny amount while not losing any effectiveness?
How can I fix the hammer spring getting misaligned on the hammer?
Should I buy the RSA adjustable FCG in the hope that it might fix some of this?

I can't get your photo to come up, (my problem probably) but the thumb nail looks like you've installed the spring incorrectly.
The ends of the "legs" on the spring are supposed to point down when installed.  Those are supposed to be inside the rear part of the trigger just behind the disconnector. The hammer is supposed to rest in the U shaped portion of the spring.

Damn, I can't believe I've been doing it wrong the whole time. Thanks for the tip.

ditto on you installing it incorrectly.  here's the best pic I could find on an installed fcg:

picture is near the bottom.  that site also has other good tutorials on the AK.
