Well, boys, I've got a couple motorcycles, a couple AKs and a couple cameras but I'll be damned if I ride down the interstate with an AK slung over my back!   Not to mention that it's both cold and wet here in NC Indiana tonite.

Sorry.  But if anyone finds the pic I would like to see it also!

Fixed it for ya.  If he's living in an open carry state, what's the problem?

I did something similar to that when I was dating my wife.  I wanted to take her shooting in the AZ desert but my 66 Mustang was down and all I had was my Jap Harley knockoff.

I took tie wraps and stuck my SKS folder (starter rifle) to the side of my bike because her mother was/is against guns so could park it at the curb where she wouldn't see it.  The people going down the freeway would look over at me and a look of shock would come over their face.  They would either speed up or slow down quickly.  It was funny to see their faces.

Talk about open carry.  I went shooting with my buddy and stopped at a grocery store for some soda.  I had my 44mag slung under my armpit and my 40 on my side in the checkout line.  When the checkout girl rang me up she asked if I was a cop.  I looked at her funny and said no.  I never got my change faster than that.

It's wierd how people who've only seen guns in movies react to seeing one in person.

Honestly I don't find anything funny about it at all.  It just goes to show how much fear there is out there.  When simple open carry makes you a target of serious suspicion there is something wrong there.

Whattaya think NW?  I can't tell where it'd be taken at.  That damn HOV lane sign is to damn generic.  One of the tags in the background looks like it has a PA color to it.  But no what in hell would he live long enough up there doing that for it to be in PA.

Remember how common it was to see gunracks in trucks years ago.
It's shame that society looks at guns like something that should be kept out of site.

I think gun racks faded out of favor due to theft rather than public fears.

When I was in Highschool (class of 98) 3 out of every 5 trucks would have a 12 guage and a lever action 30-30 in racks in the back.  EVERYDAY.  We hunted deer and squirrel in the "nature walk" area behind the school and got the first week of modern gun season off.  Hunters education was a required course in 8th grade.  It's a shame where we've gone in those 9 years.

That is part of my point.  It's damn shame we have so many thieves.  If prison was anything other than a long-term boarding facility with free cable, air conditioning, 3 hots & a cot, then maybe we wouldn't so much theft.

You must have some fine prisons in North Carolina, because Texas prisons aren't like that at all.

edited to add:
North Carolina spends $26,984 per inmate per year
Texas spends $13,808 per inmate per year

I didn't find it funny either.  I strapped them on because I didn't want to leave them in the truck bed to be stolen or stuff them under the seat and break concealment laws.  It's the children who haven't been exposed to and taught to respect firearms that grab daddy's gun and hurt themselves or others and/or grow up to be afraid of them.

That's obvious, because NC doesn't hire illegal aliens to build and maintain the prisons.
