There is obviously some exageration in just how much US armed forces have used the AK.

Still, it is a reliable firearm, no doubt. It is ideally suited to harsh environments.

I'm inclined to smile and let Mr. Kalashnikov have his moment in the spotlight.

That guy looks amazing for being 86 years old. I always though that both Kelly Johnson (from the famous Lockheed "Skunkworks" division) came from the same school of thought as Kalashnikov- Keep it simple, stupid!

Anything more complex than it needs to be is a waste of time and resources.
