Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Can I run my SAR2 without that upper gas tube metal C-clip thingy???

The russian laminate set that I have on the rifle fit like ass but I just realized that taking that c-clip off the upper hand guard allows it to fit a lot better. So can I run the gun without that little c-clip retainer tang?? The wood is SLIGHTLY loose which I can fix with a tad bit of epoxy which I will be able to dremel off if I want to swap out the wood later.

anyone?

Other than the loose woood, no problems that I am aware of in not having the "c-clip" on there.
