I have a seriosly bad fitting Russian AK74 laminated hand guard and took too much wood off with my Dremel. Now it is sticking too high off the tube. I intend on using JB Weld to hold the two peices closer together. Will it hold Wood to the metal and will it withstand the heat?

thx
Mike

I think you are starting a little high on the adhesive-force continuum

I'd start but building the HG back up with some plastic wood or glue, sanding it down, and see how it works. Its a PITA to get those HG's off in the first place...Keep in mind that the wood and any finish you put on it has relatively low heat tolerance, so you son't need to go gungho on the fix.
