Cutter1: The Ak you describe is probly a Romanian Wasr .. the scope mount is riveted on the left side of receiver, and is not detachable.. they are dependable , not very expensive and a good way to get started in AKs.. HTH Les

Probably a WASR or maybe a SAR. SAR's will have dimples by the mag well WASR's wont. SAR's ar eno longer imported and are prefered over the WASR but both are good beginner Ak's. The scope mounts come on & off with no problem its the side rail that is permanent. The side rail is a nice option to have and isnt very obvious and doesnt get in the way. The price should be in the $350 range maybe more for a SAR and scope and mount may add a little as well.
