Has anyone bought a Czech. VZ 58 s from Marstar in Canada? I would like to know if it is possible. I know I have to fill out a ATF 6 form to import a firearm.

Not possible.

More involved then a form 6.. You might be able to do it with a bolt action, but the semi auto CZ58s dont meet US import regs... If they did, companies would be importing them into the US directly..

The trade price for one in Europe is about $200... Cant imagine them breaking the $500 mark in the US....

Dude. I just wanna buy a couple Yugo AK mag pouches from them. I wish they had a normal buy-it-now web-site.

Contact them directly... www.marstar.ca/ they'll be able to tell you for sure what they can/will export.

IIRC the Vz58 that Marstar sells is a real deal 100% Czech made gun.  The receivers are NOS that have been modified into semiautos....but they started out as select fire & ATF regs are "once a machine gun always a machine gun" hence they aren't importable to the US.  The barrel length is also less than the USA legal 16".

In the USA your options are a vz2000 from OOW or build it yourself (I've seen 80% DIY receivers online).

The BBT will be delivering this bad boy tomorrow to my FFL

I've always wanted one. Saw one on "Your American Backyard Forum" for $1000. Like new. Couldn't pass it up.

Thanks for the info. Will check into either VZ2000 or build it myself.

I am pretty sure the real VZ58s and the Canadian semi version have a barrel shorter than 16". Not by much but enough to make importation a pain.

Just checked 'Small Arms of the World', lists bbl as 15.8 inches.

Yes, the OOW version has a barrel extension on the end to lengthen it to 16".

Nice rifles, but I wish they wouldn't make their receiver markings so humongous.  Looks like a darn billboard.

Is it me or do those things look like they have the same dust cover as the hakims?

Okay, well, similar.  Any connection between the two?

Got the VZ2000 yesterday. Very nice. great ergonomics. really light mags. The VZ2000 is alot smaller than I thought it would be but solid.

My sidefolder kit is coming today

Huh, they go for around 650 CDN $- about 580 US equivalent. From what i've seen no better than an AK, just different.
