You should have let him use the Polish Tantal instead.

reminds me of when i was eight and my dad decided it was time for me to learn to shoot.. on a 12ga winchester model 11. i actually fell backwards.

There was a video here on Arfcom of a kid of 5-6 years doing that

ouch. My Dad handed me a 30.06 when I was 9 or 10, knocked me right over. Good thing he did too, or I may have grown up to have BRD and own lots of guns......

Hah, the first time I fired the old man's 03  I thought I'd
be smart and backed up against a tree.

WoW! that sure did smart!

Cool video..Looks like you and your nephew have a good friendship there...it's refreshing to see people enjoy the shooting sports instead of putting them down...tell him to hold it tighter against his shoulder, and it won't kick so bad.

First fired a .45-70 when I was 14. Didn't fall over or anything, but dang was my shoulder sore after a couple sores.

Oh what a difference 60 seconds of instruction would have made.

Teach him the right way to fire that weapon, maybe he wouldn't want to "hand it back" so soon...
