Don't be too bummed......looks like ther was a reserve that wasn't met.  You'll probably get another shot at it.

I wonder if the seller will try to back out?  Isn't that scope worth about $250.00?  I located one that looks like it but may have a defferent ID number.

Probably.

Thats the problem with 1 cent auctions I guess.  The first guy can bid a couple hundred bucks, but you need a second person to bid also before the price goes up.

Edit: Actually, it looks like he ended the auction early when he found out he forgot the reserve. It says sold up top, but it wasnt up for the full 7 days. He pulled the auction early, so yeah theres no way that guys getting it for 1 cent.

It lists the bidder that won though and I would raise a bitch that the seller reneged.  If it was the buyer that refused to pay they would kick him off of gunbroker.  The seller has 4 pages of items for sale, he knows how to run an auction obviously and he ended it prior to the date when the sale should have ended. It still had time to go up in price and I think it is bulls**t that he would be able to pull it just because it was listed with no reserve, that is how he listed it, his problem.

Didn't Centerfire sell a bunch of rifles buy it now priced lower than they intended a year ago and about 10 guys purchased and then got burned by Centerfire?

I was also monitoring this auction. He terminated it very early. I think he screwed up and didn't put in a reserve price, because I was watching, and it said No Reserve. He had a Buy Now price around $500. I'm just wondering how that plays out though...since someone bid on it, isn't the seller required to give it to them at that price??

Gunbroker is about a joke and a half..

Damned near every auction on there is screwy.. I see stuff sell all the time, but is relisted almost as soon as the auction ends..

Here is the auction back up...The seller realized that he didn't have a reserve and just ended the auction and relisted it.

If he ended the auction without refusing the bid, when he ended the auction he sold it to the high bidder.

BJ is right if the seller closes an auction early and there is a bidder, that bidder gets it for the curent bid, its happened to me

I was going to say- the text of the auction says that it is an $800 scope and his reserve is well below that.  He just made an honest mistake.

Better that he end it early and relist than to string anyone along, right?

Guarantee that will probably happen. Probably say that he sold it to another buyer and didn't have time to end the auction.

You can end an auction even if there have been bids, thats why you see the subject to local sell clause they put in so often.  But you cant change the price or reserve once there has been a bid.

I agree, no one cent scope in that auction.

How many pieces do you think the winner will receive the scope in IF he gets it at all...
